Toshiba slashes price of UK HD DVD

March 30th, 2007 · No Comments

In a dramatic move, Toshiba has slashed the price of its entry-level player by 100 pounds from April 1. The HD DVD HDE1 will now retail in the UK for 339 pounds. Certain retail outlets will also be offering the deck with two free HD DVD movies, available via redemption. Spokesman Nathan Sheffield says “This represents exceptional value for those looking for a high performance high definition disc player.” The price drop allows the brand’s 1080p capable HDEP10 to slot into the range at 449 pounds. The top of the range HD-XE1 remains unchanged at 650 pounds.
