S-LCD Corp, the joint venture between Samsung and Sony, says its latest G8 LCD panel factory will begin production at least a month ahead of schedule. This means that its first large screen G8 panels could go on sale before Christmas. The new Korean factory can produce eight 46-inch panels or six 55-inch LCD TV panels from a single motherglass sheet. Sony says that the advanced factory will help drive its LCD sales up by 66 per cent for this fiscal.
