Sharp’s cutting edge panel making facility in Kameyama, Japan, was shaken but not stirred after an earthquake rocked the region on Sunday. The quake registered 5.4 on the Richter scale and originated beneath Kameyama city. A number of buildings were damaged but the Sharp facility suffered only minor downtime. The LCD innovator has two factories in the area producing sixth and eighth generation glass substrates for its Aquos LCD TV ranges.
