Retail number-cruncher NPD has revealed that the PlayStation 3 continue to lag behind the Xbox 360 (199,000 units) and Wii (259,000 units) in the trend-setting US market with monthly sales of 130,000 units, but it’s far from bad news for Sony. The venerable (and profitable) PS2 is still on a charge, selling more than all three next-gen consoles, at 280,000 units. Hit PS2 title God Of War 2 shows there’s no reason why the oldest games system should lose its shine. The sequel shifted 833,000 copies in just two weeks.
