Sony has launched a range of network BRAVIA LCD TVs in Japan. The so-called J-series comply with the DNLA (Digital Living Network Alliance) interoperability standard and have an Ethernet connection which allows them to stream content from other DNLA equipment (such as a DVD recorder or hard drive device) and standard PCs. The screens can also display online content from a dedicated BRAVIA web portal, either direct or via an overlay on live TV. Sony will offer screens ranging from 20 inches to 40. Models will come in two flavours: the entry-level J3000 models and the high-end J5000.
