Apple TV on Target

April 26th, 2007 · 1 Comment

It may be a pointless product in the UK, but the Apple TV media streamer has some powerful friends in the US. Mass-market retailer Target now says it will distribute the unit across the US, joining CE retail goliath Best Buy. While Apple isn’t talking up sales for the Apple TV device, chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer says that the product is off to a satisfactory start, hinting that major changes are planned for the system: “We will provide software updates to customers. We have a number of ideas on Apple TV.”
Apple’s second quarter sales jumped 88 per cent for the period ended March 31. Revenue was up 21 per cent to 5.6 billion dollars.

Why is it a pointlessproduct in the UK? My laptop outputs S-VHS and SVGA only and my TV has HDMIand S-Video ports so I can’t get an analogue or digital HD picture from laptop to TV any other way.
