Just room to squeeze on one more logo

Your AV equipment will soon be sporting yet another logo. This time to confirm general HDMI compatibility. The Simplay testing and certification laboratory has begun to process hardware from a number of key brands, including Hewlett-Packard, JVC, LG, Pioneer, Yamaha and Samsung, The latter has had three products approved by the Silicon-valley start-up: the R155 DVD recorder, second-generation BD-P1200 Blu-ray player and LN-T3253H, 32-inch LCD TV. According to the organisation, the BD-P1200’s HDMI 1.3 connection underwent “stringent testing for performance, robustness, and interoperability.”
Says Simplay Labs president Joseph Lias: “The Simplay HD logo will give consumers the peace of mind that their CE products will work together.”
