Green is the colour for Philips

Philips believes its new Green Tick logo for consumer electronics products will help buyers actively looking for environmentally friendly products. The brand says the logo indicates that its equipment ‘will have significantly better energy efficiency than the nearest competitor products in the same category.’ Currently seven Philips TVs carry the logo. DVD recorders, AV systems and wi-fi products will follow. Philips CEO Rudy Provoost says: “We’re committed to being a responsible industry leader and helping consumers find more energy-efficient lifestyles through increasingly advanced products and better information.”
The Tick is the latest part of Philips’ long-running EcoDesign initiative, which began back in 1994.
