Pioneer bounces back after financial disaster

May 16th, 2007 · No Comments

Pioneer, currently repositioning its brand at the higher-end of the display market, believes it can now see some light at the end of the financial tunnel. The Corporation has posted a net loss of 6.761 billion yen, a massive improvement over the previous year’s fiscal loss, which sat at 487.23 billion yen. CE sales were up 3.9 per cent, but Pioneer says there was a dip in sellthrough as it saw a drop in its OEM business. The company predicts that PDP sales will increase, following breakthroughs in new plasma display technologies.
