First combi 50GB PS3 game and movie disc announced

May 18th, 2007 · No Comments

Sony says it will release the world’s first 50GB game and movie disc. The film is John Woo’s celebrated action classic Hard Boiled and the game is the kinda-sequel Stranglehold, featuring a digital version of Hard Boiled‘s star Chow Yun-Fat.
Released as a special combi set, the title will sell for 70 dollars when it ships this summer. According to SCEA’s Riley Russell: “The 50GB capacity of Blu-ray Disc allows PS3 content publishers to do things simply not possible on our competitor’s 9GB DVD-based systems. Thanks to the advanced technology found in the PS3, developers like Midway can truly realize their visions, bringing consumers even closer to the game.”
