It’s all go at BT. Not only has the UK telecoms giant embarked on its first TV campaign for the BT Vision IPTV box, but its now the UK’s biggest broadband provider, with a 26 per cent market share. With more than 3.66 million customers, BT has moved ahead of rivals Virgin Media and NTL: Telewest. New data reveals that in Q1, BT gained 245,000 new customers and pocketed another 195,000 through its acquisition of PlusNet.
BT CEO Ian Livingston says: “I am delighted that we have regained the top slot as the nation’s favourite broadband retailer. Customers have shown what they clearly want – innovative products and services offering great value that are easy to use and deliver the exciting opportunities that broadband can provide.”
