LG to close plasma factory

May 21st, 2007 · No Comments

LG is to close one of its four panel-making plants. The Korean giant will stop making PDPs at the A1 plant in Gumi, in order to reduce costs and improve overall efficiencies. The factory is the oldest of LG’s plasma operations, and is capable of making 840,000 42-inch panels a year. The company said the move would improve its PDP business as a whole. The closure will reduce LG’s 4-inch capacity to 4.32 million panels a year.
