Polish LG LCD plant opens for business

May 31st, 2007 · No Comments

LG’s Polish module assembly plant has opened for business. The new site, which it shares with affiliates LG Philips, LG Innotek and LG Chem, will concentrate on producing screens for the fast-growing European market, which already represents 37 per cent of global screen demand. Capacity is expected to be 2.4 million screens in year one. LG says it is already planning to expand its operation by 2011.
“As the demand for LCD TVs is increasing more rapidly in Europe than any other region, this Poland cluster will play a core part in LG’s overall LCD-related businesses,” explains Yong Nam, LG Vice Chairman and CEO.
