Its critics have been harsh, but Microsoft’s Zune music player clearly has legs. The company has announced that it expects to hit a million sales by the end of its financial year in June. Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division, is predictably pleased with the progress of his pet project, saying “When we finish our fiscal year in June, we’ll have sold a little over a million Zunes. So, we feel very good about that.” Bach makes no secret of his desire to integrate the Zune platform with Xbox Live, which currently has six million users. Personally, we’re just waiting for the Halo 3 special edition to appear.
