DVD falls from favour

June 4th, 2007 · No Comments

What’s in a name? Trade body The DVD Entertainment Group Europe will drop DVD from its title, replacing it with a catch-all ‘Digital’. The group, headed by Warner vice-president Yves Caillaud, is charged with promoting both and formats as well as DVD. Caillaud says the name change “is reflective of the changing nature of our industry. It’s no longer solely about DVD but rather about a connected living room with the HD media player at the centre of it.”
