What’s in a name? Trade body The DVD Entertainment Group Europe will drop DVD from its title, replacing it with a catch-all ‘Digital’. The group, headed by Warner vice-president Yves Caillaud, is charged with promoting both HD DVD and Blu-ray formats as well as DVD. Caillaud says the name change “is reflective of the changing nature of our industry. It’s no longer solely about DVD but rather about a connected living room with the HD media player at the centre of it.”
