First freeview Playback PVR features whisper-quiet HDD

June 4th, 2007 · No Comments

The UK’s first official Freeview Playback PVR, the TVonics DVR-FP250, will utilize Hitachi Global Storage Technologies’ new CinemaStar range of hard drives, optimised for ‘bedroom quiet’ acoustics, low-power idling and judder-free playback. The diminutive PVR, which sells for 190 pounds, is built around a CinemaStar 7K500 250GB drive. “As consumers transition from analog to digital television, they are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of digital recording and are seeking products that offer high-capacity recording, quiet and reliable operation and low-power operation,” reasons Paul Fellows, managing director TVonics. “We chose the CinemaStar range of hard drives because of their class-leading performance and Hitachi’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of consumer oriented storage solutions.”
