The long rumoured form factor change for the Sony PSP has taken a twist with a recently filed patent application by Sony Ericsson for a hybrid PSP phone. The unit has a swiveling screen allowing it to be used for both gaming and mobile applications. Sony has refused to be drawn on possible changes to its PSP proposition. Sony and BT recently announced that they would be partnering on a VOIP offering for the PSP later this year, with an application of the telco’s Softphone software due to be launched in the autumn.
