Philips will introduce a range of large screen LCD TVs this summer with a new picture processing engine dubbed PerfectPixel HD. Utilizing 1920×1280 resolution panels, the screens will feature a 120Hz refresh rate and LED-based Ambilight side-lighting for the first time. Philips says its new LED lighting technology reduces both power consumption and cabinet size. Users can even use the Ambilight feature when the screen is turned off, as room mood lighting. HDMI connectivity is v1.2.
