Samsung announces Russian LCD mega-factory

Samsung says it will build a new flat-TV factory in Russia. The Korean giant, which dominates flatscreen sales in the country, says it will create a 195,000-sq.metre facility in Kaluga, 85 km southwest of Moscow. The investment is worth 57 million dollars. Samsung says the plant will open by October 2008 and offer a capacity of 2.2 millions screens by 2010.
