June 24th, 2007 · No Comments

Speaking at a shareholders meeting in Tokyo, Sony Chairman Howard Stringer pledged to make the a hit big enough to shift the company from recovery to profitable growth. Declaring himself a ‘Sony warrior’ and not a gaijin (foreigner), Stringer referred to the PS3 as a ‘key driver’ for the brand, saying that while the company continues to lose more on the hardware “we can recover that money gradually. The PS3 will be vital to our future.”
A significant price cut for the games console is expected in the autumn.
