A new survey from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) reveals that while thirty percent of American households now have HDTV only 44 receive HD broadcasts. Cable remains the most popular choice of HD programming for those that receive it. Says CEA Director of Research Joe Bates “Consumers are satisfied overall with HDTV. But our studies indicate continued education is necessary to ensure consumers truly understand how to receive the full HD experience.” The prime motivator for buying an HDTV is movies and next-generation games consoles.
