Warner delays Total HD HD DVD Blu-ray flip disc till 2008

June 28th, 2007 · No Comments

Total HD, the combination flip disc format, touted by Warner Home Video as a solution to the hi-def format war, will not appear this year as first suggested. The Hollywood major now says it will debut titles ‘early’ 2008. It’s believed that the studio wants to launch with a catalogue of between 10 and 20 movies, along with unique retail display solutions to promote the format. Warner senior VP of marketing management Steve Nickerson said “There is no expiration date on the viability of this concept, so we’re not in a rush to do it. We’ll do it when it makes sense and when it’s right.”
