Sony UK has refuted web rumours that it plans to discontinue its SXRD microdisplay rear projection TVs this year. According to spokesperson Aimee Lake, there’s been no such announcement. “As far as I’m aware, we will be bringing a new range of SXRD sets to the UK later this year. The models offer superb performance and allow enthusiasts to reach screen sizes that might otherwise be too expensive if they were LCD models.”
Sony says it will also introduce a new range of SXRD front projectors this year, beginning with the 1080p VPL-VW60, an update on the highly regarded VPL-VW50 Pearl model.
