No Xbox 360 price cut for UK, but Falcon flies

August 2nd, 2007 · No Comments

Despite confirmation that Microsoft is dropping the price of its   range in the US on August 12, no price cuts are planned for the UK. “We have no plans to make any changes at this time,” says the company. The most likely scenario is that product pricing will only be ‘revised’ in the run up to Christmas.
More information that corroborates stories of a redesigned Xbox 360, codenamed , has surfaced via Singaporean contract chip maker Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing. The company, which has produced 90nm and 65nm Xbox 360 processors, now says it is working on a 45nm CPU. Although it would not be drawn on specifics, the company hinted that mass production of the product would begin in 2009.
