300 becomes biggest selling hi-def disc

August 8th, 2007 · No Comments

Action epic 300 has become the world’s most popular h-def movie, selling over 250,000 copies in both and disc formats. Ron Sanders, Warner Home Video president, says: “300 is an amazing film and the high-definition sales we are seeing underscores the positive business benefits of supporting both HD DVD and Blu-ray. This phenomenal response to 300 is the latest proof that our approach makes the most sense in today’s market and has enabled Warner Home Video to continue to lead the market in high-definition sales.”
Warner’s Jim Noonan adds: “It wasn’t that long ago we were talking about 100,000. 250,000 is quite a progression. I think that is quite significant.”
