Across the board, UK retailers took the hatchet to LCD and plasma screens alike, pushing prices down to hitherto unseen levels. The most dramatic cut came from Dixon Stores Group, which offered a 50-inch Philips plasma for just 999 pounds. The model, 50PFP5532, has twin HDMI inputs and Pixel Plus image processing.
