LCD TV prices to rise

JVC to cut over 1000 jobs

Cash-strapped consumer electronics brand JVC is to cut 18 per cent of its workforce. 1,150 workers will lose their jobs during October. It hopes to achieve its layoff target by offering early retirement packages for long-serving employees. JVC is expected to merge with Kenwood during 2008.
