Hi-fi specialist Meridian Audio has appointed a new managing director. Tim Ireland (pictured) takes the post, effective immediately. With a background in engineering and manufacturing, Ireland seems well-suited to the high-tech firm. His previous appointments include several years as Head of Product Development at Bowers & Wilkins, overseeing the introduction of many milestone products including the diamond tweeter-based 800 Series and the PV1 sub-woofer. He left B &W to join Monitor Audio as Chief Operating Officer.
“Meridian has always been recognised as one of the best of the best not only for its products but also for the technologies it creates, develops and embraces” he says. “The Company is poised not only to build on 30 years of audio-visual heritage but also to take the brand to higher levels and to a wider audience. There is a great team in place and I am very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”
“It’s a time of significant development and expansion for the company, with many new challenges and opportunities,” says Merdian Chairman, and co-founder J Robert Stuart. “Tim will be a significant asset as the company moves forward.”
