The BD-UP5000 is fully compatible with both Blu-ray and HD DVD discs, offering support for both of their rival interactive technologies, BD Java and HDi. It will sell for 600 pounds when it debuts in UK stores later this year.
Also new from Samsung is an all-in-one home cinema system with integrated Blu-Ray player. The HT-BD2 Home Theatre is built around a 7.1 channel receiver offering decoding for Dolby TrueHD and the DTS-HD Master Audio formats.
