Plasma promoter Panasonic is to sell large-screen LCD TVs for the first time this autumn. The company has hitherto restricted sales of LCD TV to sets 32-inches and under, but from this autumn it will ship 37-inch models into the Japanese market, to meet consumer demand. A European wide introduction is likely in 2008. Hitachi, another plasma vendor, has announced similar plans.
