The PlayStation 3 has taken another knock with the news that Sony is delaying the introduction of its much-touted virtual world Home (pictured). Speaking at the opening of the Tokyo Game Show, new chief executive Kazuo Hirai admitted Home won’t open its doors until spring 2008 at the earliest. Designed as a rival to virtual universes like Second Life, Home was expected to give the PS3 a significant boost during the key Xmas buying period.
Hirai went on to describe the performance of the PS3 as “unfortunate.”
The Tokyo Game Show is expected to attract more than 180,000 enthusiasts, eager to play over 700 new titles.
