Hitachi to show world’s thinnest LCD TV

Hitachi will unveil the world’s thinnest , at this weeks CEATEC tech expo in Japan. The prototype screen is less than 2cm thick. The company says it will start mass-producing a 30-inch version of the screen in 2009. By way of comparison, similar-sized LCD displays are approximately 10cm thick. Prototype displays have previously been the smallest screens seen, at around 3cm.
