51GB HD DVD configuration approved

As expected, the DVD Forum has approved the specification for a triple-layer 51GB HD DVD. Although supporting studios have expressed contentment with current capacities, the new disc, which comprises three 17GB layers, allows the system to exceed Blu-ray’s maximum storage capacity when content (or propaganda) requires.
