Steven Spielberg still will not commit to HD DVD, despite Universal’s unequivocal support for the format. The Hollywood major has been forced to apologise for including a PowerPoint slide during a presentation at Universal Studios Japan, intimating that Spielberg’s hits, including E.T., Jaws and Jurassic Park, would be launched in the format. In a statement the company wept ‘Universal has not made any formal announcements regarding Spielberg catalogue titles coming to HD DVD at this time.’
