Samsung will rush-release a firmware update for its Blu-ray players this Friday. The move has been prompted by the failure of its players to spin the new Fantastic Four Blu-ray release. The update covers the brand’s BD-P1000 and BD-P1200 decks, and will allowi them to cope with copyright protection technology BD+, embraced by Fox. Without the update, BD+ titles will sporadically freeze during playback. Owners can obtain the patch by visiting www.smasung.com.
