Nintendo announces record profits, looks to launch Wii in China

Nintendo says that consolidated sales for this fiscal year will come in more than 10 per cent up on a previous estimate, at 1.55 trillion yen. It has also reported a consolidated net profit of 132.4 billion yen for the first six months of 2007. Nintendo is looking for even greater profits with the release next year of the in China and South Korea.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata says that shortages of hardware will finally ease by then, allowing the company to push into new markets. Unsurprisingly, the company says that it is not considering any price cuts for its gaming products in the foreseeable future.
