Nintendo rivals in a box

November 8th, 2007 · No Comments

According to outspoken US Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime, Sony and Microsoft have “put themselves in a box” by developing cutting-edge games machines. Speaking to investors during a web briefing, he reflected “I don’t know how they’re going to get out of it. They’ve gone down the path with building expensive machines that they lose money on. The games are hard to develop.”
Nintendo’s continues to dominate console sales, but both its rivals have significantly grown their own markets recently, through a combination of hot games and price cuts.
