Sony opens war chest to win Xmas TV battle

Sony US president Stan Glasgow says the brand will spend 100 million dollars on its high definition range this year in order to make this Christmas sales period “the best ever.” The announcement comes after the brand released strong trading figures for its CE division. Glasgow says consumer demand is centered on 32- and 40-inch screens, but Sony is focused on growing larger displays of 50-inches and above.
