Samsung pulls out of Japanese market

November 12th, 2007 · No Comments

In a surprise move, Samsung says it will pull out of the Japanese consumer electronics market. The only products it will still offer are computer monitors. The company has found it difficult to make a dent in the fiercely home-brand loyal market and cites low profitability as the reason for its withdrawal. The Korean giant has been selling in Japan since the 1980s but only really began to aggressively market CE products from 2000.
