Microsoft announces Zune with laser art option

November 13th, 2007 · No Comments

Microsoft has released two new Zune digital music players. The new models, a 4GB edition and an 8GB model, will join the original 30GB Zune and come with improved video playing support. US consumers can also purchase customized Zunes online in a choice of colours (red, pink, green and black) and opt to have one of 27 original artworks laser-etched onto back of their player. Microsoft says it will also begin offering DRM-free MP3 tracks from its Zune Marketplace. Around a million songs will be available to download in the format. There’s no confirmation yet for a European launch of the Zune brand.
