November 21st, 2007 · No Comments

A US confederation of high-end custom installers has blasted mass-market CE retailers for driving down the cost of flat panel displays. David Berman, training and public relations spokesman for The Home Theater Specialists of America (aka the HTSA) warned consumers that they are being sold screens with inferior resolution and video processors. “It’s buyer beware. Cheap is costly in flat panels over the long term,” he says.
As part of its post Thanksgiving sales, Best Buy says it will set a new price point for premium electronics by selling a 42-inch Panasonic at 900 dollars.
