Sony is downsizing in France. Sony France SA will close its manufacturing facility in Pontonx-sur-L’Adour and reduce its workforce at a plant in neighbouring Alsace by over 200 people. Once the hub of the company’s Betamax tape operation, Pontonx-sur-L’Adour has more recently been involved in the restoration and digitalization of important video archives.
