Xbox 360 finds Japanese audience at last

December 14th, 2007 · No Comments

The 360 hasn’t enjoyed the greatest success in Japan since its launch but Microsoft isn’t throwing in the towel yet. And its efforts may yet pay off. Where the console was ignored last Christmas, this year it is beginning to draw crowds, although whether this is down to new RPGs like Lost Odyssey or bright pink controller options it’s difficult to tell.
Now Takashi Sensui, executive officer and chief of Microsoft’s Tokyo office, says the console’s Japanese games library will double by the end of 2008. Promised is a sequel to the local hit Blue Dragon. Xbox 360 sales are currently languishing at around 500,000 units, but Senui believes that selling one million consoles is achievable.
