Panasonic has produced the world’s thinnest Blu-ray drive. Intended for use in ultra-small laptops, the BD mechanism measures just 9.40mm; it can also read and write to CD and DVD media. The unit will be officially unveiled at next week’s CES in Las Vegas, alongside the company’s first Profile 1.1 Blu-ray players for the European market.
