The PlayStation 3 continues to be the Blu-ray investment that keeps paying its buyers back. Speaking at the Las Vegas CES Sony has confirmed that 2008 will see an update to the games console that will introduce BD Live compatibility. Only a small number of BD Live enabled Blu-ray discs, which offer web-enabled features, have been announced, but it looks certain that at least PS3 owners will be able to play them. The last firmware update for the PS3 introduced support for Profile 1.1 features such as picture-in-picture.
