The volatile semiconductor business offset the rising sales of LCD panels, leading Korean giant Samsung to report a 6.6 percent drop in its Q4 earnings; the company earned 2.21 trillion won during the fourth quarter, down 2.36 trillion won YOY. However during 2007, Samsung posted a record 7.42 trillion won in net profit on sales of 63.17 trillion won.
