Pioneering cable and satellite set-top box maker Pace is to acquire Philips’ set-top box business. The Philips division, which supplies British Telecom with its BT Vision V-box, has been bought in a cash and shares deal said to be worth 68 million pounds. The new group says it will produce around 8.5 million set-top boxes per annum for the global market.
