JVC has found a new partner in its battle to claim a slice of the booming LCD TV market. The company is on the verge of announcing a tie-up with Funai in which they will agree to supply LCD TVs for the global market under each other’s brand names. Funai will badge 19-32inch TVs it assembles in Poland, for JVC to supply into European markets. Similarly, JVC will supply Funai with the 37-inch TVs it makes in Mexico for sale into North American stores. The pair plan to mass produce low cost LCD TVs together, using proprietary technology, from 2009.
