Transformers leads Visual FX Award winners

While all eyes may have been on the BAFTAs in the UK, across the pond at the sixth annual Visual Effects Society Awards, it was popcorn sci-fi flick Transformers (HD DVD) which stole the show. The robo-fest took four awards, including best film, outstanding visual effects in a visual effects-driven motion picture and best single visual effect of the year.
Other winners included Ratatouille (Blu-ray), which won three awards, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (Blu-ray). The big FX TV winner was Battlestar Galactica (HD DVD).

Ratatouille, Food : Outstanding Effects in an Animated Motion Picture
Ratatouille: Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Motion Picture
Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix: Outstanding Special Effects in a Motion Picture
Battlestar Galactica: Razor: Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Miniseries, Movie or Special BSG: Fight for Life ep4: Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Series
