Dolby Surround coming to mobile phones

Surround sound pioneer Dolby Labs continues to extend its reach. At the 2008 Mobile World Congress, Dolby unveiled Dolby Mobile, an audio post-processing technology platform designed to bring surround sound to music, movies, and TV shows on mobile phones and portable media players.
Francois Modarresse, Vice President of Marketing, Dolby Laboratories says: ““Entertainment can sound better on mobile phones and portable media players. We developed Dolby Mobile to help create products that stir the senses and excite people’s imaginations so the industry can deliver on the promise of mobile entertainment.”
Dolby also demonstrated aacPlus at the Congress, a high-efficiency audio compression format designed for download, streaming, and broadcast applications on mobile phones.
